Troubleshooting

The logos get huge when someone replies to my email

This happens when a signature uses large image files that are shrunk to fit. Many email apps, Outlook in particular, drop the “shrink to fit” instructions when they quote your message in a reply, and the image jumps back to its real size. Our old icons were about 2,000 pixels wide.

Signatures made here use images that are already the exact size they display at, with the size written into the signature too. Even if a reply strips every instruction, the logos can’t grow. To fix an old signature:

  • Delete your old signature completely in each app. Don’t edit it.
  • Paste a new one from this page.
  • Don’t resize, crop or re-insert the images in your app’s signature editor.
The pasted signature lost its formatting or colors

Use Copy signature, not Copy HTML source, and paste with Ctrl+V or ⌘+V. Avoid “Paste as plain text” and “Paste and Match Style.” On iPhone, shake the phone right after pasting and tap Undo to restore the formatting iOS removed.

Images show as attachments or empty boxes

Some apps attach signature images to each message instead of linking to them. That’s most common on iPhone. Switch to the Compact version for that device. On a computer, make sure you copied the signature from this page and didn’t drag images in by hand.

Copy signature doesn’t do anything

Some browsers block copying. Click and drag across the signature in the preview to select it, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘+C (Mac). Chrome, Edge and Safari all work.
